A Question For Visitors
By Alato | August 1, 2009
The last post was almost a year ago, and unfortunately not much progress has been made. So, I’m back with a new post.
As most of you know, the VGMDS community is very small, and it occasionally grows a tiny bit. A bigger community with more users will let more users get more out of VGMDS. So I’m asking you,
What do you think VGMDS needs most to help the community grow?
Tutorials to help new users learn about the program? More available demos or games made with VGMDS, possibly? More resources to be able to make a game quicker? Or maybe just a new version of VGMDS to fix some bugs and add some new and needed features? Please post your opinion in the comments or forum.

i just found your site today and i’m about to try the VGMDS, i think tutorials and demos are a great idea to show people the things the VGMDS can do

I agree with Arthur about more tutorials, and especially demos, being a good way.
New posts here may be another good way. Like you said, it’s been about a year since the last one. A new person who saw this before august 1st might’ve thought it had been abandoned and didn’t check out the forum and such. So…try making posts more frequently if you can. Surely there’s something you can say at least twice a month or so lol.
I’ll have to start checking this main page more often myself. I bookmarked the forum, so I never see this page (that’s why I’m just now commenting on this). I’ll just change my bookmark to here!

Wouldn’t videos be even beter
1)no multi language issues
2)no people asking what buton the tutorial is talking about
3)very noob freindly(easyer to understand your game is made for you)

Videos tutorials are a great idea and would be a lot more effective than written tutorials. I’ll have to see how to go about actually making a video tutorial though.
I’ll try posting more often to keep the main page alive, too.
And everyone can help out with demos. I’m personally happy to find out a way to fix a certain problem I had a long time ago in VGMDS, which is a big gameplay aspect in the game I’m working on. After I fix up a few things with the site finally, I really want to finish it. I’ve been meaning to for a long time, but I think I finally will this time.
And, I mean, it’ll be nice to have another main demo(instead of tests) to go with VGMDS than only the zeldemo. So we’ll see.
Thanks for the suggestions.
